A sore back that will not settle. A knee that still feels off after surgery. That tight neck you keep stretching in the car. Physiotherapy in Brampton at Right Time Rehab is built for those everyday problems, and for the bigger ones after a fall, a car accident, or a long stretch of desk work.

We treat people at two clinics: North Park in north Brampton and Avondale near Bramalea. You get a registered physiotherapist, a plan that actually matches how you live, and a front desk that can often bill your insurer directly. Book online or call the branch that is closer to you.

How we approach physiotherapy

The first visit is not a rushed stretch-and-go. Your physiotherapist sits with you, asks what the pain is stopping you from doing, and watches how you move. That assessment is the whole point. Until we know what is driving the problem (a stiff joint, a weak hip, a nerve that is irritated, scar tissue after surgery), treatment is guesswork.

From there the work is hands-on. Manual therapy to get a joint moving. Targeted exercise so the change sticks when you leave. Modalities when they earn their place, not as filler. If massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, or custom orthotics would speed things up, those clinicians are in the same building. You are not sent across town with a printed referral and a hope.

The goal is plain: less pain, better movement, and a way back to work, sport, or just walking the grocery store without thinking about it.

Conditions we treat

Brampton patients come in with a wide mix of issues. These are the ones we see most weeks:

Back pain and neck pain

Desk posture, lifting at work, a sudden catch when you bend. We look at the spine, the hips, and how you sit, then treat the source instead of chasing the sore spot.

Sciatica and nerve pain

That sharp line down the leg, or numbness in the foot, often calms once we take pressure off the nerve and rebuild the muscles that support it.

Sports injuries

Sprains, strains, overuse in the shoulder or knee, that “I trained through it and now I cannot.” Return-to-play plans, not just rest.

Post-surgical rehab

After a joint replacement, ACL work, rotator cuff repair, or a fracture. We follow your surgeon’s protocol and push the timeline as far as your tissue will allow.

Whiplash and car accident (MVA) injuries

Stiffness, headaches, dizziness. We treat the injury and help with the claim paperwork.

Workplace injuries (WSIB)

Lifting, repetitive strain, slips. Treatment plus the forms employers and case managers expect.

Arthritis and joint wear

Hips, knees, hands, spine. The aim is to keep you moving so the joint does not seize up around the pain.

Vertigo and balance problems

Including BPPV-type spinning. Assessment first, then specific manoeuvres and balance work.

Neurological rehab

Stroke, Parkinson’s, and other conditions where walking, balance, or coordination have changed.

Frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, headaches tied to the neck, concussion follow-up, scoliosis-related stiffness, fibromyalgia flare-ups, osteoporosis-related deconditioning, postural pain, bursitis, trigger finger. If it is not on this list, still book. We will tell you honestly if physiotherapy is the right first step.

Techniques we use

Not every visit looks the same. Your plan may include:

  • Manual therapy. Joint mobilisation and soft-tissue work to restore range.
  • Exercise rehab. Strength, control, and mobility you can do at home in 10 to 15 minutes, not a 40-item printout you will ignore.
  • Dry needling and acupuncture. Useful for stubborn muscle tension and some pain patterns.
  • Shockwave therapy. For chronic tendon problems that have stalled.
  • Electrotherapy and other modalities. Ultrasound, TENS, and similar tools when they support the hands-on work.
  • Vestibular rehab. For dizziness and balance.
  • Post-operative progressions. Load, range, and gait, stepped up as you heal.
  • Orthotics referral. When foot alignment is feeding knee, hip, or back pain, our chiropodist takes it from there. Custom foot orthotics in Brampton

What your first physiotherapy assessment looks like

Call or book online. Wear clothes you can move in: shorts or loose pants, a top that lets us see the shoulder or neck if that is the issue.

You will fill in a short history, then spend most of the visit with your physiotherapist. They will look at posture, joint motion, strength, and the movements that recreate your pain. You should leave knowing three things: what they think is going on, what the first few weeks of treatment will include, and what you need to do at home.

Bring your insurance card or plan details. We issue receipts and can often submit direct billing / eClaims so you are not floating the full fee while you wait for reimbursement.

Most first visits run about 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-ups are shorter and more treatment-heavy.

Four steps from first call to feeling like yourself

  1. 1
Book. Online or by phone, at North Park or Avondale.
  2. 2
Assess. We find what is actually driving the pain.
  3. 3
Treat. Hands-on care plus a plan you can keep up with.
  4. 4
Recover. Strength and confidence back at work, in the gym, or around the house.

Progress is not always a straight line. If something flares, we adjust. That is normal, not a reason to quit.

The home program (the part people skip)

Hands-on work in the clinic buys you range and a quieter nervous system for a day or two. What you do in the kitchen or the garage is what keeps it. We keep home programs short on purpose. Two or three exercises done well beat a booklet you leave in the car. If a movement hurts in a sharp or new way, stop and tell us at the next visit. Soreness that fades is different from pain that climbs.

Physio after a car accident in Brampton

Whiplash is not only a neck problem. People come in with headaches, dizziness, shoulder tightness, and sleep that fell apart after the collision. Start sooner rather than later. Tissue settles into a guarded pattern if you wait for it to "just go away." We treat the injury and help you document what the insurer needs. You do not have to become an expert in accident benefits to get care.

Physio for work injuries

Warehouse shifts, driving, long days at a workstation on the 410 corridor: the mechanism is usually repetitive or a single awkward lift. WSIB files need consistent notes. We treat the shoulder, the back, or the knee, and we write the reports so the case does not stall because a form was vague.

Is physiotherapy covered by OHIP or insurance in Brampton?

This question sits at the top of Google’s People Also Ask box for physiotherapy in Brampton, so here is the straight version.

OHIP-funded physiotherapy exists in Ontario, but only at designated Community Physiotherapy Clinics, and only for certain people:

  • age 65 or older
  • age 19 or under
  • anyone recently discharged from hospital (overnight stay or day surgery in the last 12 months) who needs physio for that condition
  • Ontario Works or ODSP recipients

A valid Ontario health card is required except for OW/ODSP. Care at those designated sites is free if you qualify. Right Time Rehab is a private multidisciplinary clinic. Visits here are paid through extended health benefits, car accident or WSIB claims, or directly. If you think you qualify for the public program, ask us and we will point you to the provincial directory so you can check nearby designated sites.

Extended health benefits are how most of our patients pay. Workplace and private plans usually cover physiotherapy, often with an annual maximum. We provide official receipts and offer direct billing to many major insurers.

Car accident (MVA) and WSIB claims typically fund the treatment related to the injury. We have done this paperwork for years and will walk you through what the adjuster needs.

The “5 free physio sessions” line you see online usually refers to publicly funded care at those designated clinics, not a coupon at a private practice. If that is your situation, we will say so up front.

What patients tell us

People usually mention two things: the therapist listened, and they left with a plan they understood. Review themes across our listings include pain easing after a stretch of sessions, flexible booking, and staff who remember why you came in.

Frequently asked questions

Is physiotherapy covered by OHIP in Ontario?

Only at designated Community Physiotherapy Clinics, and only if you meet the rules (65+, 19 and under, recent hospital discharge, or OW/ODSP). We are a private clinic. Most of our patients use extended health benefits. We can explain both paths when you call.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?

No. You can book directly. Some insurance plans still want a referral before they reimburse, so glance at your booklet or ask your insurer. If you need a note, we will tell you.

How much does physiotherapy cost in Brampton?

It depends on whether it is an initial assessment or a follow-up, and on the length of the visit. We confirm the fee when you book and bill many insurers directly so the amount you pay at the desk is often just your remaining portion.

Do you offer direct billing?

Yes, to many major insurers through eClaims. Bring your plan information to the first visit.

How many sessions will I need?

Honest answer: it depends on how long the problem has been there, what you need to get back to, and how consistently you do the home work. After the assessment you get a range, not a vague “we will see.” We revisit that range as you improve.

Do you treat car accident and WSIB injuries?

Yes. MVA and workplace injuries are a regular part of the caseload. We treat the injury and help with the claim.

What should I wear?

Clothes you can squat, reach, and lie down in. Running shoes if we are looking at walking or the knee.

Can I see a physiotherapist and an RMT in the same week?

Yes. Plenty of patients split care that way, especially after a car accident or a stubborn back. We coordinate so you are not getting mixed messages.
